Nikita is showing off her new Christmas sweater in front of her own little Christmas tree in Kenosha. Nikita is my 5 year old Daschund mix I adopted from a rescue group in Illinois 3 years ago. She had been abandoned in Chicago as a puppy and was scheduled to be put down but the rescue group volunteers who came to pick up some other dogs at the shelter spotted her and couldn't leave her behind. I think she adopted me rather than the other way around and after being in foster care for over a year loves her forever home and hanging out with her friends, both 2 and 4 legged.
