We have been collecting Dept. 56 Original Snow Village since we got married 25 years ago. It all started when my mom purchased a random church for us as our first Christmas decoration. Since then it has grown to about 100 lit buildings and 100+ accessories. Many of the pieces are replicas of buildings in Stillwater MN, not far from where I grew up. Several of the buildings were purchased as they reminded us of things in our own lives, so we have a personal connection to the village as well.
