All are invited to visit The Moving Wall to experience its presence and to honor the sacrifice of those who have served and sacrificed. The solemn nature of this event will require an appropriate level of quiet, respectful conduct.Return to event list.
Thursday, September 12: 8:30 - 9 am
A procession of motorcycles and military vehicles will escort The Moving Wall from the Radisson of Pleasant Prairie around Lake Andrea to the main set-up area.
The public is invited to assemble around the lake to watch the procession.
Open to the public, free of charge.
Opening Ceremony: Thursday, 9/2, 6:00 p.m.
Remembrance Ceremony: Saturday, 9/14, 1:00 p.m.
Closing Ceremony: Monday, 9/16, 1:00 p.m
The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Washington D.C. Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was conceived of and built by Vietnam Veterans as a remembrance and healing tool for all those people who cannot visit the Memorial in Washington D.C.
As of January 1, 2013, there are 58,282 names listed on the memorial, which is dedicated to the 2.7 million men and women who served in the U.S. military in Vietnam.
