Event Description

A CONFERENCE - BULLYING SOLUTIONS: Creating a Culture of Acceptance, and will take place immediately following the movie and panel discussion.

The purpose of the conference is to offer solutions and provide additional resources that are available in the community. Stan Davis, educator and author of "Schools Where Everyone Belongs: Practical Strategies to Reduce Bullying" and "Empowering Bystanders in Bullying Prevention" will be the keynote speaker.
Davis has been supporting positive youth development and empowerment since the early 1970s, as a therapist, school counselor, bullying prevention educator, and researcher. Following the keynote speaker and dinner, there will be five break-out sessions that will feature experts that focus on a number of specific topics that will include: educational resources, LGBTQ, building connections, and social media.

Participants will be able to select a breakout that they most identify with. This conference is an opportunity to share ideas, and work on solutions to address the problem.

The movie and conference is for educators, mentors, students (over 13 years old), parents, and all community members. CEU’s are available for educators.

The conference will be held at the UW-P Student Center. Registration is from 3:30 – 4:00.
