Guests Swing Over for Lake Lawn Resort’s Big Band Weekend
-Experience the nostalgia of the glory years with a night of swing dancing and big band music-

DELAVAN, WIS (March XX, 2013) - Between Justin Timberlake’s performance at the Grammys and the upcoming premier of The Great Gatsby, big band music is back in a big way. Join Lake Lawn Resort for an evening of vintage tunes on Apr. 27. Guests are invited to experience the best of era with In The Mood, a 19-piece ensemble that performs original arrangements from the 1940s big band style, specializing in danceable swing music of the era.

In addition to In The Mood, The Frontier Restaurant will feature a savory plated dinner including their signature salad and a choice between Boston roasted cod with Nicoise vegetable ragout and fingerling potatoes or roast sirloin marinated in citrus with a peppercorn beef demi glace, caramelized onion potatoes and green beans.

In The Mood joins Lawrence Welk in Lake Lawn’s musical History
Since the very beginning, big band performances have been a part of Lake Lawn Resort’s history. The late Lawrence Welk, a member of an orchestra and regular guest at Lake Lawn in the 1950s, brought his “champagne music” and entertainment to Lake Lawn’s guests. Welk left the resort with a tradition of hosting big band events over the years, and on Apr. 27, the Milwaukee-based band In The Mood will continue the tradition.

Performing for over 28 years, In The Mood is known for their fresh and energetic interpretations, which includes renditions of music by Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller. Their music has been shared throughout the Midwest, and Lake Lawn is thrilled to have them as the special entertainment for the weekend.

The evening will begin with a cash bar starting at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and In The Mood’s tunes from 7-11 p.m. Tickets to the festivities can be purchased for $45 per person, which includes the plated dinner and entrance to the big band dance.

Lake Lawn is also offering a one-night package for $219, which includes the big band dance and dinner, as well as brunch the following morning for two. In addition, Lake Lawn will also offer a two-night lodging package for $349, which will include the same features along with a round of golf for two (cart included).
