Two days of lectures, classes, demonstrations and workshops, lead by over a dozen local artists. Courses cover all kinds of fiber arts: quilting, knitting, wool applique, bead embellishment, weaving, sewing, punch needle arts and more!
New this year: longer workshops!
Each day, in addition to our regular, one-hour classes, we are offering three-hour workshops for those who really want to learn a new technique in depth. Keynote Speakers:
Lisa Binkley, Friday, May 17: ”Adding Sparkle & Texture to Your Quilts”
Lisa will also be teaching a three-hour workshop, “Bead & Button Embellishment: Simple to Spectacular” on Friday afternoon. Participants will make the sampler (pictured right) as Lisa teaches her amazing techniques.
Chris Moline, Saturday, May 18: ”200 Years of Quilts”
Chris will lead us through a light-hearted history of women and textiles from the last two centuries. Chris will use examples from her large collection to help explain the importance of quilts as historical storybooks. She has fun examples of mistakes and errors in judgement, as well as classic examples of period quilts. Registration opens February 1, 2013. Register at the museum, by mail (download “Brochure” below), or online. Deadline for registration is April 30, 2013. No late registrations will be accepted. Cancellation policy: Full refund if received before April 1, no refund after April 30. Cancellations received April 1-30 will receive a 50% refund.
