Event Description

Wisconsin artist Barbara Kohl-Spiro’s gallery talk accompanies an exhibition of her work: "Shiviti Fabric of Prayer: New works by Barbara Kohl-Spiro” at the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons in the Golda Meir Library.
The exhibit will run from August 15 through November 19. The works consist of large-scale paintings on handmade paper assembled to reflect the concept of traditional fabrics often hung in synagogues as contemplative reminders of God's presence. For Kohl-Spiro, these works also reflect the spirit of women's expression in quilts, tapestries, and amulets.

A pre-reception will be begin at 5:30 pm at the Hillel Milwaukee (the Joseph & Vera Zilber Student Center), 3053 N. Stowell Ave., Milwaukee.
