Bucks need answers in free agency

A few days into free agency and the Bucks are finding they have more questions than answers. The pool of available players is shrinking, especially on the guard front where the Bucks are most desperate.

Milwaukee has lost G/F Mike Dunleavy to the Chicago Bulls and G J.J. Reddick in a three-way trade to the Los Angeles Clippers.  Reddick was as good as gone, but replacing Dunleavy, who has been a nice surprise in the sixth man role for the past two seasons, has to put more pressure on an already busy front office.

The Bucks were lucky to get anything at all for Reddick after only four months with the team.  Milwaukee acquired him in a trade with Orlando that sent former first-round pick Tobias Harris to the Magic.  Reddick was apparently Plan B after the Bucks failed to nab Josh Smith from the Hawks.

Milwaukee is currently over $20 million under the salary cap and still have question marks at starting PG and starting SG.  Fans should expect resolutions in this free agent class or via trade because the 2014 free agent class is slim pickings at the guard position.

The Bucks have reportedly been speaking to SG O.J. Mayo about a possible multi-year contract.  Milwaukee needs a scorer and the former No. 3 overall pick would be the main shooter if he indeed signed here.  I think it would be a good fit for them on the court as many guards are dropping off the list of free agents.

Off the court, however, this could possibly be a very bad idea for him and the Marquette Golden Eagles.  I hate to insinuate here, but Todd Mayo is his younger brother and will be an important piece for Buzz Williams team next season.

I know if I were in college and my brother was a millionaire living in the city I went to school, there'd be a good chance that many opportunities for making questionable decisions would arise.

I'm just saying.
