Thompson Usually Feasts on NFL Draft DayPackers' GM Ted Thompson has maintained a fortuitous stance on his drafting phylosophy. Thompson has always said he and his scouting team draft the best player available dispite serious needs on the defensive side of the ball, most notably in the secondary and pass rusher opposite LB Clay Matthews No matter what experts say and sports writers write about the Packers drafting needs, Thompson remains adament that there will be no change come draft day. Thompson will have 12 picks at his disposal. He's proven to be very resourceful when it comes to drafting college players(Rodgers, Matthews, Jennings & Raji), signing undrafted free agents(Shields, Williams & Bush) and, when he actually dips into the free agent market, signs efficient, productive veterans(Woodson & Pickett). (Here's a list of the rounds Green Bay will pick in: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7 & 7) I'd be interested to hear what you think about Thompson's plans on picking. Leave us a comment or send an email to acoughlin@cbs58.com. But before you do, here is a list of all of Thompson's drafts since becoming Green Bay's GM in 2005. (Players in red and bold are currently on the team.)
