Bucks: 3 teams, 2 spots; Remaining Schedules for Regular Season

The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks go head-to-head tonight in a game that hold extreme importance for both teams.  The Bucks have the home court advantage, the Knicks have the one game edge over the Bucks for the 8th and final spot for the playoffs.

Even if the Bucks lose this game tonight, they still have a good shot at winning the final playoff spot.  It'll be a tougher road, but their schedule is easier than the Knicks.  The 76ers, without an unforeseen collapse, have the best chance to secure a playoff spot and here is why:

There are two spots left and three teams racing to the finish.

The Philadelphia 76ers are clinging to the 7th spot.  Due in large part to their play in their last 15 games (5-10), they've been free falling, are 30-27 and are up by 2 games on the Bucks and 1 game on the Knicks.

The Knicks have been playing well since the departure of former Head Coach Mark D'Antoni.  They are 29-28 and have been led by Carmelo Anthony, who is playing well dispite not having the help of All-Star Amare Stoudamire and phenom Jeremy Lin.

The Bucks have been playing steady basketball, keeping pace with the up and down Knicks.  They've beaten the teams they were supposed to beat and lost to the teams they were supposed to lose to, with exceptions here and there.

If the Bucks beat the Knicks tonight, I believe they have a very good shot at making the playoffs, just because their schedule favors them better than the Knicks remaining schedule.

Here's a look at all three teams remaining 9 games.

Milwaukee                       New York                      Philadelphia

vs. Knicks                                   @ Bucks                                  @ Raptors

@ Detroit                                    vs. Wizards                             vs Nets

vs. Pacers                                  vs. Heat                                   @ Magic

@ Wizards                                 vs. Celtics                               vs. Pacers

@ Pacers                                   @ Nets                                    @ Cavs

vs. Nets                                      @ Cavs                                   @ Pacers

vs. Raptors                                @ Hawks                                 @ Nets

vs. 76ers                                    vs Clippers                              @ Bucks

@ Celtics                                   @ Bobcats                               @ Pistons

Tonight is a big game and if they lose they would have to go 6-2 to have a good chance at making the playoffs ahead of the Knicks.  I could see them doing that with their last 8 opponents.

Their chances of getting in are greatly increased with a win at home tonight vs. the Knicks.
