Harley, David's Son - The song at Harleyfest

by Keith Meka

MILWAUKEE - A man's nearly two decade old dream of releasing his song about Harley Davidson by top talent is getting closer to reality. Tom Prouty wrote the song in 1995 after riding a Harley for the first time since he was a kid.

He named it Harley, David's Son to avoid copy right infringement but the song is about the famous motorcycles. Prouty had the song recorded as a duet by two unknown singers but he's really hoping a big name will take it to the next level.

After years of trying, Prouty finally got Harley Davidson's permission to release it. Prouty brought the song to Harley to do some market research on it to convince to top talent to consider it. The Minneapolis songwriter believes it's only a matter of time.
